Beluga S

Todd Smith, Photographer/Naturalist/Guide
Glacier Bay Tours and Cruises
"We spend our summer days sea kayaking
in the most beautiful and remote areas of Southeast Alaska. We
guided thousands of people this year and found the Beluga S absolutely
ideal for our purposes.
The boats endured over 100 days of rigorous sea kayaking, in every
imaginable location and condition, and all our kayaks performed
flawlessly. The design and construction of each kayak was tested
every day. These boats went from paddling in icy waters at the
front of a glacier, to dodging the tricky currents of Southeast
Alaska, to making rocky beach landings, and they never disappointed
us. The Beluga's stability made the novice paddlers feel secure,
while its speed and maneuverability impressed the experts we took
out.
The easy-to-use rudder assembly and adjustable footrests allow
us to custom fit each kayak to the individual, greatly enhancing
comfort levels and increasing paddle time...
In addition to being loaded, paddled, beached, and unloaded every
day, these boats were hoisted up a crane and carried by crew members
to various decks of the ship, where they were stored each night.
Again, the Belugas were perfect: tough enough to endure this unusual
treatment, yet light enough for any crew member to handle. I can't
thank you enough for your wonderful product."

Kara Berg, Manager
Glacier Bay Sea Kayaks, Gustavus, Alaska
"Since 1979, our Belugas have proven to be the safest two-man
kayaks that we can provide our renters, 90% of whom are new to sea
kayaking. The boats remain stable during the most inclement weather.
At the end of their first paddling day, our clients come away with
confidence in the Beluga's ability to provide them safety and stability
for the duration of their trip.
In addition to unsurpassed stability, the lightweight Beluga provides
our campers with enough cargo capacity for 7- to 10-day rentals,
including space for 12- by 24-inch food canisters required for bear-country
camping in Glacier Bay National Park."
