The outrigger arm (aka) attaches to the canoe rails behind the bow paddler. It is made of 1” x 4.5” x 7’ select-grain wood.
Offered factory installed or for easy self-installation.

Installation - Option #1
The simplest method of installing the 4.5-foot outrigger is to attach oar locks to the outside of the gunwales and then bolt the outrigger arm to the oar locks. Fasten the oar locks to the outside of the canoe rails (behind the bow seat).

Installation - Option #2
An outrigger thwart can be permanently attached to the inside of the canoe gunwales. The outrigger arm (aka) then is bolted to the outrigger thwart (using 5/16” carriage bolts).

Outrigger Attachment
The 4.5-foot Outrigger (ama) features two pre-threaded stainless-steel anchor plates, permanently bonded to the inside top of the outrigger. The outrigger arm attaches to the outrigger with four stainless-steel bolts (1/4” x 20 x 1 1/4”).

Outrigger Ballast #2080
5-pound lead pellets in waterproof vinyl bag, fits through 4” outrigger porthole. Use Ballast with single outrigger system.

Double Outrigger System
The outrigger arm (aka) can be centered on the canoe allowing for the attachment of two outriggers.
