Imagine being able to paddle with comfort in a big open cockpit;
go out on serious seacruising trips using an optional hardtop
cover; row with a sliding seat for fun and exercise; or sail
with a Spinnaker Sail or Polynesian-style with Outrigger and
Airfoil Sail... All this is possible in our Tatoosh, and conversion
between modes is easy.
The large open cockpit accommodates two
adults comfortably, with room for small children or the
family dog. Enjoy the open feel of a canoe combined with
the cruising efficiency and rudder control of a kayak. Explore
estuaries and marshes in it. Or escape for some peace and
quiet when you are out gunkholing!

leisurely trips my family used to take down the Havel
River when I was a boy growing up in Eastern Germany.
My parents would load me, my two brothers and provisions
into a double kayak for overnight trips to my grandparents’
home twenty miles downriver. Often they would stop on
the way for a picnic or to visit friends. While my brothers
sat on my parents’ laps, I would be stretched out
on a sleeping pad in the bow watching the clouds in
the sky... Those early childhood memories inspired the
design features of the Tatoosh.”
